Memglow 1.3 is rolling out on the App Store today. It's our biggest update since launch: a brand new feature at the top of your Contacts list, a visual refresh across the entire app, and longer voice notes for Pro members.
Meet the Reconnect Spotlight
The question I kept hearing from early users wasn't "how do I remember more." It was "who should I reach out to?" You've captured memories for dozens of people. Some you talked to yesterday. Others have quietly slipped for months, and you don't notice the slipping until it feels awkward.
The Reconnect Spotlight answers that question every time you open the app. It's the new strip at the top of your Contacts list: a short, ranked row of the people most worth reaching out to right now. Memglow weighs how long it's been and what it knows about the relationship, then puts your best picks first. Capture a new memory for someone and they gracefully drop off the list. There's nothing to configure, and it's included on every plan.
It lives alongside "Ready to check in," and the two do different jobs on purpose. The Spotlight is a recommendation: always on, no setup, a ranking of who's worth your time. Ready to check in is an alarm you set yourself, for the people you want on a cadence. Together they cover both halves of staying close.
A new look, everywhere
Version 1.3 also ships a full visual refresh. We rebuilt the app on a proper design system, so spacing, type, and color are now consistent from onboarding to Settings, in both light and dark mode. The Capture screen got the deepest rework: recording now centers on a warm amber orb that glows while it listens. And there's subtle haptic feedback on key actions, the kind of detail you feel more than notice.
Longer voice notes, faster transcription
Pro members can now record up to five minutes per voice note, with no monthly cap. If your debriefs run long after a big meeting or a full day at a conference, the app finally keeps up with you.
Transcription got an upgrade for everyone too. We moved to a newer speech model behind the scenes, so notes come back faster and noticeably more accurate, especially with names.
Under the hood
A lot of this release you'll never see: hardened subscription verification, tighter security on every server function, and an updated privacy manifest. Not glamorous work, but Memglow is an app you trust with personal details, and that trust gets earned in the unglamorous parts.
