2 Subscription & Billing

How to Cancel

Subscriptions are managed through Apple. To cancel, open the Settings app on your iPhone → tap your name → SubscriptionsMemglowCancel Subscription.

App says "Subscribe" but my Apple ID is already subscribed

Each Memglow subscription is tied to one account. If you see "You're currently subscribed to this" when trying to subscribe, but the app still shows a paywall, it means this Apple ID has an active Memglow subscription linked to a different account (or one made before we added this account-linking safeguard). "Restore Purchases" won't fix this, since it can only restore a subscription to the account it was originally linked to.

To fix it: open Settings → tap your name → SubscriptionsMemglowCancel Subscription. Once it lapses, sign in to the account you want to use and subscribe again. This will link the new subscription to that account.

Refunds

For refund requests, contact Apple Support at reportaproblem.apple.com. Memglow does not process refunds directly.

Subscription Tiers

Memglow offers two subscription tiers. See the full breakdown on the pricing page.

Plan Monthly Annual
Core $6.99 / mo $64.99 / yr
Pro $13.99 / mo $129.99 / yr

All new accounts include a free 14 day Pro trial.

3 Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account directly in the app under Settings → Delete Account. Account deletion removes all your data including contacts, memories, and audio recordings. Deletion is permanent after a 30-day grace period.

4 Frequently Asked Questions

Getting started

  • How do I capture my first memory?

Open the Capture tab and tap the big record button, or switch to Text and type. Memglow transcribes your words, extracts the facts, and walks you through a quick review before anything is saved to a contact.

  • Does Memglow import my phone contacts?

Not currently. Contacts are created inside Memglow as you capture memories about people, which keeps your Memglow network limited to the people you actually want to remember.

  • Does the app have a dark mode?

Yes. Go to Settings → Appearance and choose Light, Dark, or System to follow your phone.

Capture & extraction

  • Why didn't my capture extract facts correctly?

Extraction works best with clear, natural language. If a capture didn't extract as expected, you can edit the transcript before saving, or trigger re-extraction manually from the capture screen.

  • How long can a voice note be?

On Core, voice notes can run up to 90 seconds each, with 100 notes per month. On Pro (and during the free trial), notes can run up to 5 minutes with no monthly cap. Text notes are unlimited on every plan.

  • Can I type instead of talking?

Yes. The Capture tab has a Voice/Text toggle, and you can set your preferred default mode in Settings. Text notes go through the same AI extraction as voice notes.

  • What do the confidence badges on facts mean?

Every extracted fact carries a High, Medium, or Low confidence badge showing how directly it came from your words versus being inferred. You can edit any fact's value or category, or uncheck it entirely, before saving.

Contacts & profiles

  • What's on a contact's profile?

Four tabs: Overview (an AI summary, recent memories, and any upcoming reminder), Facts (every confirmed detail grouped by category), Memories (the full timeline of your notes), and Prepare (AI Briefs, a Pro feature).

  • When does the relationship summary update?

Automatically, whenever new memories are captured for that contact. If nothing has changed, the summary stays as it is. There's nothing to manage.

Briefs & staying in touch

  • How do I generate an AI Brief?

Open a contact, go to the Prepare tab, optionally add a line of context (like "catching up over coffee"), and tap Generate. Briefs are a Pro feature with a generous daily allowance.

  • What's the difference between Reconnect Spotlight and "Ready to check in"?

Reconnect Spotlight (all plans) is a ranked list of the people most worth reaching out to right now. It needs no setup. "Ready to check in" (Pro) alerts you only when a contact goes quiet past a cadence you set for them. One is a recommendation, the other is an alarm you configured.

  • How do follow up reminders work?

Set a date and time on any contact and Memglow sends you a notification when it's due. The reminder also shows on the contact's Overview tab until it's handled. Reminders live inside Memglow and use standard iOS notifications, so make sure notifications are allowed for the app.

  • Why am I not getting nudge notifications?

Two things to check: relationship nudges are a Pro feature, and iOS must allow Memglow to send notifications (iPhone Settings → Notifications → Memglow). You can adjust per-contact cadence, snooze, or mute from Settings → Relationship Nudges in the app.

Relationship health & digest

  • What is relationship health?

Every contact carries a simple read on where the relationship stands, based on how recently and how regularly you've been in touch. It shows as one of four color coded bands right on your Contacts list: Warm (you're in a good rhythm), Cooling (it's been a little longer than usual), Quiet (it's genuinely drifted and is worth a nudge), and Building (a new contact without enough history to call yet). The read is personal to each relationship, so someone you talk to weekly and someone you catch twice a year are each held to their own rhythm.

  • Is relationship health different on Core and Pro?

The band and its plain language explanation, something like "You usually check in with Olivia every week. It's been 41 days," are on every plan, including the free trial. Pro goes a level deeper: the numeric score behind the band, a 90 day trend line, and the factors driving the read, recency, consistency, momentum, and follow through. The score itself is calculated the same way on every plan, Pro simply shows more of it. Filtering and searching your contacts by health is available on all plans.

  • Does the health score read my notes?

No. It's Memglow's own algorithm, computed entirely from timing: the dates of your memories and follow ups, how spaced out they are, and whether follow ups happened. It never reads the content of what you wrote, and there's no AI involved in producing the number.

  • What is the relationship digest?

A regular recap that looks back at your activity. It opens with the period's numbers (memories captured, the people and facts they covered, and your capture streak), then a Cooled off rail of the people whose health slipped a band since last time. On Pro it also ends with a Coming up section that points you at overdue follow ups and people worth prepping for. The digest lives in the app, one tap from Settings, and you can optionally turn on an email copy.

  • How often does the digest arrive on Core versus Pro?

Core gets the digest monthly, the recap plus the Cooled off rail. Pro gets it weekly and adds the forward looking Coming up section. The in app view and the email are independent toggles, so you can keep one and skip the other. Either way the digest costs nothing to run and is built only from the timing of your notes, never their content.

  • How does search work?

Search covers your contacts and their facts. You can combine a text query with tag, category, and relationship health filters, and choose whether results must match any or all of them.

  • Can I customize the fact categories?

Facts organize into nine standard categories (Personal, Family, Business, Interest, Opportunity, Health, Relationship, Location, General). You can reorder how they display under Settings → Category Order. Fully custom categories aren't available yet.

Privacy & data

  • Is my data private?

Yes. Your data is stored securely in your account and is never sold or shared with third parties. Sensitive facts are flagged and blurred within the app. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

  • What happens to my audio recordings?

Pro users: audio is retained for 60 days after transcription, up to 500 MB. Core users: audio is deleted immediately after transcription is complete.

  • What is sensitive fact blur?

Facts about private topics (health, relationships, and similar) are flagged automatically during extraction and shown blurred in the app until you tap to reveal them. You can toggle this under Settings → Privacy.

  • Can I lock the app behind Face ID?

Yes. Turn on the biometric lock under Settings → Security and the app will require Face ID or Touch ID to open.

  • How do I export my data?

Memory export is a Pro feature coming soon. When available, you will be able to export all your memories as JSON or CSV from Settings.

Account & plans

  • What is the difference between Core and Pro?

Core includes voice and text capture, AI fact extraction, structured fact categories, automatic relationship summaries, full text search, Reconnect Spotlight, and follow up reminders. Pro adds AI Brief (meeting prep on demand), relationship nudges, audio retention, and longer voice notes: 5 minutes per note with unlimited notes per month, versus 90 seconds and 100 per month on Core. Full comparison on the pricing page.

  • How does the free trial work?

Every new account gets 14 days of full Pro access. You won't be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel any time before then from your App Store subscription settings.

  • How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Settings → Delete Account. This removes all your data including contacts, memories, and audio recordings. Deletion is permanent after a 30-day grace period.
